In the vines
Old vines planted in 1980 and grafted to Pommard in 1998. West Wind adds five clones: Pommard, Wädenswil, 115, 943 and 777. Both vineyards are farmed organically.
Estate Pinot Noir from the Chehalem Mountains and Ribbon Ridge, grown and made the Burgundian way.
Great Pinot Noir is decided in the vineyard long before it reaches the cellar. We keep a tradition that began on this hill in 1980, and we are in the vineyard for every step of it.

We work alongside our farming crew, in the rows all season. Every vine passes through our hands, from pruning to harvest.

Piper picks when sugar and acidity come into balance, not by the calendar.

Destemmed, fermented gently and aged in French oak. The same method every year, so the site and the vintage do the talking.
Winemaker and proprietor
Piper studied geology before she studied wine, and she still reads a vineyard from the soil up.
